THE MISFORTUNES OF PHOEBE

In 1997 Rica Erickson applied her genealogical and writing skills to her own family history. It is the biography of her maternal great-grandmother Phoebe Louisa Morgan (1835-1889) who had emigrated as an orphan from London to Victoria during the gold rush of the 1850s. In this book she makes the story of Phoebe come alive and shows her genealogical sources to inspire others to try the same with their own ancestors.
