  • AIATSIS Library Family History Unit
    The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Biographical Index (ABI) with 35,000 entries aims to provide a brief biographical entry of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people referred to, or depicted in published or unpublished material held in the Institute’s collections. The ABI is available on-line as an integral part of Mura, the Institute's on-line catalogue.
  • National Library of Australia - Mura Gadi Catalogue
    Mura Gadi - is a guide to manuscript, pictures and oral histories in the National Library of Australia relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It aims to provide an online pathway to these significant collections of archival materials held by the National Library as well as diret links to digitised copies of materials. There are over 133 records relating to Western Australia.

    How to access various collections including the Norman Tindale Collection, a series of genealogy sheets and photographs of Aboriginal people who lived on various Aboriginal missions throughout Australia during the period 1939 to 1959. Information available on these sheets includes up to three (3) generations of family names and in some cases tribal names, relevant moiety and totem.
