View original art works by prominent and prolific Western Australian artist and illustrator Robert Juniper.

Follow the journey as Mason Judy is transported to another time and place after finding a magic stone.

Beach scene

Experience summer with sun and sand in the heart of Northbridge!

The Perth Cultural Centre amphitheatre will be transformed into an urban beach with sand, umbrellas and sun lounges.

Enjoy an artisan ice cream by Delish as you watch groovy vintage beach images from the State Library collection on the big screen.

Only one third of the State Library building is accessible to the public.  Join in these special tours and discover what goes on behind the closed doors.

At the end of the tours — take time to visit the Boardroom and view some exceptional treasures rarely seen!

Discovering the Library’s past, present and future

This tour will be an evolutionary storytelling experience – from the origins of JS Battye Library to 2014, exploring the building, historical and contemporary collections and treasures and the State’s history.

Maximum 20 in a group

Assemble in front of the lifts on level 3 (inside the library)

Free little libraries

It’s a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where everyone can share their favourite literature and stories.

Come and look through our boxes full of books … stop by and pick up a book (or two) and be part of the ‘free little libraries’ phenomenon by bringing a book from home to leave in the ‘little library’ for someone else to enjoy!

Ever wanted to create your own books and stories?
