Resources in Languages Other Than English
Do you read another language? Would you like to read a book in a language you are learning? From Arabic to Vietnamese, you can borrow books in 45 languages through your local public library. The collection of about 70,000 items includes fiction, non-fiction and children's books, as well as large print, videos, DVDs and talking books/cassettes.

Provides access to over six-million information links: search engines, web directories, government websites, digital library projects and syndicated news headlines are available in more than 60 languages other than English.

Multicultural Radio Stations
Find out which radio stations broadcast programs in languages other than English in Perth, Western Australia.
Migrant Resource Centres
These centres are located throughout the Perth metropolitan area and in Bunbury. They provide a variety of services, including casework assistance and counselling.
Multicultural & Ethnic Support Groups
Over 200 clubs in Western Australia provide and promote social, recreational and sporting activities. They also assist you in gaining a better understanding of the Australian way of life.

Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia
FECCA is a voluntary non-party political community-based organisation. It is the national voice of Australians from non-English speaking backgrounds. FECCA promotes multiculturalism and monitors a wide range of issues including social welfare, employment, language policy and immigration.
Parenting in a Multicultural Society
Bringing up children is challenging. Ideas on what to expect of your kids and how best to guide them may differ from your traditional beliefs. Topics on homesickness, teasing, bullying and racism are covered. This information is also available in Chinese, Arabic, Indonesian, Farsi and Vietnamese.

This is the Western Australian government department responsible for services to multicultural people. Services range from implementing the multicultural policy, through to administering a Citizenship and Community Grants Program.

This is the Federal government department whose role is to manage the movement of people into and out of Australia. Its mission is to enhance the benefits to Australia from the entry of people and their contribution to Australia's well-being.
