The State Library of Western Australia is seeking submissions from local Noongar artists to create a contemporary artwork that considers the Noongar country. Emerging and early career artists and designers are especially encouraged to apply.
This project will include the design of a site-specific artwork to be incorporated into an Acknowledgement of Country on the ground floor of the State Library building located within the Perth Cultural Centre.
It is important that Aboriginal people, families, and community groups feel welcomed and respected when visiting the State Library and accessing its services.
Elements of the artwork will also be used in the State Library’s first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.
Shortlisted artists will receive a fee to produce a concept brief from which the selected artist will be chosen.
