WA Premier's Book Awards

The 2026 Western Australian Premier’s Book Awards are open for entries! The State Library of Western Australia is inviting writers, illustrators and publishers to submit their works for the State’s biggest book awards.

With a total prize pool of $120,000 across eight categories, the awards recognise books that capture the excellence of Western Australian storytelling.

The annual awards support, develop and recognise excellence in Western Australian writing. The State Library manages the Premier's Book Awards on behalf of the WA Government. Discover previous winners and shortlists in the archive below.

The 2026 Western Australian Premier’s Book Awards are open for entries. The awards are for books published or self-published in 2025. Read the guidelines, terms and conditions to see if you're eligible.
