Belles and Brides

Titles always have a grandeur attached to them.  Even the title Miss Showgirl distinguishes the woman, at least for a time.  No question that the contestants must parade as objects, for ogling, for censure, for pity and maybe even for fun. Many of these 'contests' have a sweet, slap dash air of not taking themselves too seriously, but the winner is assured that attention will be paid to her.  She will be fêted as she may not be in any other sphere of her life.
