Women's Organisations continued
Active organisations included the Mothers Union (1898) which aimed "to organize a band of mothers who will unite in prayer and seek by their own example to
lead their families in purity and holiness of life."
Later political organisations were founded with the intention of changing the status of women.
These included the Women's Christian Temperance Union, the Karrakatta Club, the West Australian National Council of Women and the Labor Women's Organisation of Western Australia. In 1973 the Women's Electoral Lobby was founded as a political lobby group for women's interests.
