Population Returns

Population return 1 January 1836.

The returns are found on Australian Joint Copying Project microfilm (AJCP) CO 18/16, reel 301 (Governor's despatches, numbers 99 & 118). Despatches 99 (all Western Australia excluding the places in despatch 118) and 118 (King George Sound, Vasse, Murray, & Augusta) are also available online. The returns gives name, age, occupation and place of residence of all inhabitants of the colony at that date.
